  14. I think there should definitely be at least an option to make
  15. quoted-insert overwrite in overwrite-mode.  I only ever used
  16. overwrite-mode when I'm editing binaries (eg to change string
  17. constants without recompiling), and I need to preserve the length of
  18. the file exactly.  It is a pain to have to remember to delete an extra
  19. character when I insert a trailing \0.
