  16. A multi-threaded version of Xlib (1.1) based on X11R5 patch 12 is now
  17. available for anonymous FTP from:
  18.         DEC on gatekeeper.dec.com (16.1.0.2) in /pub/X11/contrib/mt-xlib-1.1
  19.         MIT on export.lcs.mit.edu (18.24.0.12) in /contrib/mt-xlib-1.1

  21. This version, 1.1, contains many improvements over the 1.0 version,
  22. including the fixes to several race conditions and deadlock bugs.  Also,
  23. a few major performance improvements were put in this version.

  35. Note:  Another paper was published at the USENIX Winter 1993 Technical
  36. Conference.  It describes, in addition to the technical detail of
  37. this library, the performance improvement and measurement that were
  38. done since the 1.0 release.  The paper is copyrighted by the USENIX
  39. and can be found under the title "Design and Implementation of a
  40. Multi-Threaded Xlib" in the USENIX Winter 1993 Technical Conference
  41. proceedings.

  43. Currently the library supports Pthreads on OSF/1 from DEC and PCR on SunOS.
