- Over the past month or so, upgrades have been made to various files and
- packages in the network library. In particular, the NUMERIC and TAYLOR
- packages have recently been improved. The easiest way to see what has
- been changed is to obtain the whole index (by sending the message "send
- complete index" to any of the network library servers) and check the dates
- on any relevant files.
-
- Two new packages have also been added. From Hans-Gert Graebe at Leipzig
- University comes CALI. This package contains algorithms for computations
- in commutative algebra closely related to the Groebner algorithm for
- ideals and modules. It also contains facilities for local computations,
- using a modern implementation of Mora's standard basis algorithm. This
- package is in the groebner sub-library. From Carsten and Franziska
- Schoebel, also at Leipzig University, comes LIE. This is a package of
- functions for the classification of real n-dimensional Lie algebras. It
- has been added to the physics sub-library.
