- This is just rhetoric right? The rise in crime rates has much more
- subtle reasons; reasons, IMO society continues to avoid addressing.
- Let me ask you, what steps would you take to reverse the trends in
- crime that we've seen over the last 10 years or so? Taken in
- isolation, I'm not convinced gun control (or lack thereof) would have
- much effect on the crime rate either way. And I don't think tougher
- enforcement in and of itself has or is going to do much good. This
- nation's social health is much like your own personal health -
- prevention is *much* more effective than reaction.

- violence we wouldn't be having this discussion? If so, how does
- society most effectively reduce this (perceived?) gun related
- violence?
