- Hello,
-
- I have some questions with respect to the motif text widget and the issues involved
- with using that widget with files that are large enough that one generally would not
- want to read the entire file into memory. In particular we would like to obtain
- a motif text widget that encompasses some sort of virtual memory scheme to avoid
- having to read large text files into memory. In addition, we would like to be able
- to have such a text widget be able to deal with a file which will grow (i.e. have
- text appended to its tail) over time. If such a motif compliant text widget already
- exists, would someone please inform me as to its whereabouts, or if no such beast
- exists, does anyone have useful information about extending the motif text widget
- to add these features? It is also important that this widget be efficient in its
- use of system resources.
