  12. I have ran into a problem on trying to hardcoded the 
  13. foreground and background color of an application
  14. (based on some external event).  I have tried setting
  15. the foreground and background of the toplevel widget
  16. assuming that the children will inherit the values.
  17.  
  18. Setting resource files and fallback resources work fine,
  19. it just seems like after initialization, values are no
  20. longer propagated.  Any clues?
