- We do a lot of low bandwidth X here and generally find that the performance of SLIP
- to be pretty bad with X. (about 3 minutes to open a window )
-
- In general we recommend Xremote from NCD which provides a compressed protocol
- designed for efficient transport of X protocol requests. Xremote is available in NCD
- Xterminals, on PC's using NCD Xview for Windows or DOS or alternately on PC's
- using Visionware Xvision.
-
- Xremote is also rumored to be a component of X11 release 6 Low Bandwidth project.
