  12. I just finished building the mit source distribution for X11 R5 (with the
  13. XFree86-1.1 patches) for linux 0.99pl4.  I included all the MIT extensions
  14. including PEX.  The build went fine (lots of warnings, but no errors), and 
  15. the server works, but none of the PEX samples work.  They just start spitting
  16. out lots of error messages of the form:
  17. PHIGS error -50 in OPEN PHIGS: Communication error
  18. PHIGS error -1 in OPEN PHIGS: Ignoring function, cannot open PHIGS, cannot
  19. create communication channel
  20. PHIGS error 2 in OPEN WORKSTATION: Ignoring function, function requires state
  21. (PHOP,*,*,*)
  22. and so on...
  23. Is there something I have to do to make this work?  I have TCP compiled into 
  24. the kernel, but do not have an Ethernet card (I set the TCP stuff to yes in
  25. site.def).  How does PEX communicate with the rest of X?  Any information
  26. which may lead to a solution would be greatly appreciated.
