  12. I've been looking into getting an S3 video card for use with X386 (the
  13. X-window software) running over linux.  It seems the highest
  14. performance cards supported by X386 drivers are S3 801 based.  That is
  15. the conclusion I've drawn from last month's issue of Byte's comparison
  16. of Windows accelerators.

  18. It seems that from the Byte review the best card is the Actix
  19. GraphicsEngine32.  A close runner up was the Orchid Fahrenheit 1280 VA
  20. (the one with the Voice Annotation function which as far as I know is
  21. not supported by linux).  I can find the Orchid card everywhere but I
  22. cannot seem to find the superior Actix card anywhere.  I've looked
  23. through the whole January Computer Shopper (no small feat) and could
  24. not find anyone who sells any Actix product.

  27. Is there anyone out there who sells the Actix GraphicsEngine32?
  28. Do you have one of these boards?  Where did you get it and how 
  29. does it work with X and linux?
