- I have a Genoa 7900 series VGA card and have successfully used it
- using the LINUX/X11 setup. When starting up X, the software interrogates
- the card and gives me back a list of 16 clock speeds. These include 28, 32,
- 40, 45, 50, 57, 63, 72, 80 and 90 MHz. The 90 MHz is the fastest speed I have.
- I have a CTX NI monitor and the limiting factors I have found weren't the
- clocks, but two other factors:
- 1. Having only 1 MB ram on the card limited me to ~ 1150 x 850 with 256 colors.
- 2. The CTX monitor could only accept horizontal signals between 30-37 &
- 47-50 KHz. This turned out to be the real limitation in getting stable,
- high-resolution pictures. As I recall the MAG monitor has a much larger
- range than this.
