- In my recent research to setup X on MS DOS PC and
- link to Sun Sparc server network via modem line,
- I found the following information to share with net.
-
- This post could be useful for FAQ list #16 also.
-
- This is for your information only. I hold no responsibility
- on the products and I'm not related to either company
- in any way.
-
- MS Windows is the environment I wanted to run X , so
- I looked into two products that were suggested lately
- by the net. ( DOS version packages are available )
-
- NCD (Network Computing Devices) 1 800 795-7638
- PC-Xview for Windows PC-XRemote Edition $199 list
- XRemote Host Software PC Edition N/C
-
- VisionWare 1 415 325-2113
- XVision for Windows $449 list
- ( comes with VisionWare Communication Package )
- XRemote for PC-XVision $100 list
- XRemote for Host ( UN*X or VMS ) $150 list
-
- You need full set to try X on serial modem line.
-
- Our plan is to try them both in the next three weeks. If you're
- interested in the results, send me mail.
- I'll make legitimate attempt to send you the summary.
