- Following the advice in the "faster X" FAQ, I took a look at xvt, the
- xterm workalike written by J.D.Bovey. The gain in swap space is
- great, *but* I also wanted the -C console switch and use of my Alt key
- (emacs just isn't the same having to hit Esc every time...). The
- author kindly pointed me in the direction of Ronan Melennec's version
- (ftp.stna7.stna.dgac.fr:xvt-stna-1.0beta.tar) which has -C but still
- doesn't like my Alt key.
-
- So, does anyone have either:
- (a) a version of xvt that has -C and understands the Alt key
- sufficiently to work with eg emacs, or
- (b) some words of advice on how to get Ronan Melennec's version to
- understand the Alt key (under X11R4, SunOS4.1.1 on a Sun3/50 ...
- now do you understand why I want that swap space back? :->).
-
- If so, please e-mail me : I'll summarize any positive responses.
