- I think that I tried the above patch to decstations running Ultrix 4.2 A
- but it did not compile.
- After the above patch, I could manage to compile by defining
- _G_BROKEN_SIGNED_CHAR
- and using cc instead of gcc for TIFF.

- Without patch, interviews3.1 compiles without problem on decstation,
- but doc core dumps ( 8-( ).
