  30. I think that I tried the above patch to decstations running Ultrix 4.2 A
  31. but it did not compile.
  32. After the above patch, I could manage to compile by defining 
  33.   _G_BROKEN_SIGNED_CHAR
  34. and using cc instead of gcc for TIFF.

  36. Without patch, interviews3.1 compiles without problem on decstation,
  37. but doc core dumps ( 8-( ).
