  15.     Once a proc is in the D state there is no way to kill it
  16.  until it changes state. This proc is in Disk wait or other  short-term wait. 
  17. The priority of the proc is set so high that in  doesn't  receive signals and 
  18. thus cannot be killed. The only way to get rid of such beasts that don't
  19. go away
  20. is to reboot the machine.
