  14. For no apparent reason, when invoking VP/ix on my ISC SysVr3.2 system, I
  15. now receive the following failure message:

  30. I have also received similar messages, but referring to a file
  31. "utils.c" rather than "strings.c".

  33. I am not aware that I have made any changes to cause this to happen,
  34. though I have probably done something, yet undiscovered.  The only major
  35. change that I have made to my system recently is to start using X11R3,
  36. but the above problem occurs whether X is being used or not.
