- I'm using ttymon instead of getty or uugetty. The relevant files for
- ttymon are the _pmtab file and the ttydefs file. For getty/uugetty it's
- the inittab and the gettydefs files.
-
- Those files need to be edited properly in order for things to function
- correctly.
-
- Try with ttymon by going to the sysadm template and look around under
- ports or whatever it's called on Consensys. There you'll creating,
- editing the _pmtab file. The ttydefs file that originally came with
- your package might need to be edited and have a few entries added or
- changed. For example, you might need to include hupcl in the ttydefs
- file so that modem callers hang-up when they wish to disconnect.
-
- Anyways, try looking through the online manual pages under ttymon,
- pmadm, ttydefs. You'll get some pointers there as well.
-
- About dialing in...the problem perhaps is that you're port monitor(s)
- and port_services might not be enabled. Enable them and seeif callers
- can't then call in.
-
- Also, if you're going to use ttymon, disable the connect_on_carrier.
- Doing so, when using ttymon, allows ttymon to display your issue file,
- which normally people edit to include certain kinds of necessary infor-
- mation, such as how to login as a new user, etc.
