- I have a similiar problem using an older WD8003. The card is configured to
- the default address and is detected on boot.

- I've tried the above ifconfig and route command (with my IP address) and
- variations with little success. Ftp reports a timeout.

- I do get a message on the BSD machines console "reject 65531" repeated
- as it see's pings or other packets addressed to it.
