  11. I'm new at A/UX and have the default installation of the lpr spooler. I
  12. have added a printer for my second LW on LocalTalk successfully, and
  13. have remote printing working between the Mac and an HP9000.

  15. BUT...it looks to me like output gets pushed through pstext, presumably
  16. to print the file as text. What if it's ALREADY Postscript?

  18. I see that the lp model script claims to detect the PS 'magic number'
  19. so that a Postscript file which starts with this magic number will
  20. be sent AS POSTSCRIPT.

  22. Should I switch to the lp spooler? (Is that a lot of work?) Or, should
  23. I hack the lpr filters to permit postscript printing? Or am I missing
  24. something and it already works? Docs are suitably opaque on the
  25. matter. Thanks in advance for any advice....
