- Summary: How to send PS to LW's; lpr or lp?

- I'm new at A/UX and have the default installation of the lpr spooler. I
- have added a printer for my second LW on LocalTalk successfully, and
- have remote printing working between the Mac and an HP9000.
-
- BUT...it looks to me like output gets pushed through pstext, presumably
- to print the file as text. What if it's ALREADY Postscript?
-
- I see that the lp model script claims to detect the PS 'magic number'
- so that a Postscript file which starts with this magic number will
- be sent AS POSTSCRIPT.
-
- Should I switch to the lp spooler? (Is that a lot of work?) Or, should
- I hack the lpr filters to permit postscript printing? Or am I missing
- something and it already works? Docs are suitably opaque on the
- matter. Thanks in advance for any advice....
