    Hi ho!  We just upgraded to AIX 3.2.0 and are haveing some problems
First, the date command does not return the time zone.  This seems to be
causing problems for othe programs, notably the netnews which can not produce
a valid message ID and so we have no posting.  Must this be turned on or is
there some setting that controls this?
    The second problme we are having involves elm and maybe sendmail.  When
replying to a message which originated on the local system a .J^A. is appended
to the TO: field.  The standard  mail  command does not seem to have this
problem.  I have looked and dinked in the sendmail.cf file far too long and
have even used a sendmail.cf file from a machine which does work...no change.
Hints?
    Finally, I can't get anything to compile!  Things that used to compile fine
under 3.1.5 now don't get far before stopping.  I do have bsdcc set up but no
luck most of the time. Any big change in how to compile ported stuff?
    I have noted one difference between the machine that does work and mine.
language environment on mine (the one with problems) is set to C (POSIX) while
the other machine is set to English (Unites States-IBM 805?).  Could this
contribute to the problems?

    Thanks for any tips...I'm running out of tricks to try!
