- Hi ho! We just upgraded to AIX 3.2.0 and are haveing some problems
- First, the date command does not return the time zone. This seems to be
- causing problems for othe programs, notably the netnews which can not produce
- a valid message ID and so we have no posting. Must this be turned on or is
- there some setting that controls this?
- The second problme we are having involves elm and maybe sendmail. When
- replying to a message which originated on the local system a .J^A. is appended
- to the TO: field. The standard mail command does not seem to have this
- problem. I have looked and dinked in the sendmail.cf file far too long and
- have even used a sendmail.cf file from a machine which does work...no change.
- Hints?
- Finally, I can't get anything to compile! Things that used to compile fine
- under 3.1.5 now don't get far before stopping. I do have bsdcc set up but no
- luck most of the time. Any big change in how to compile ported stuff?
- I have noted one difference between the machine that does work and mine.
- language environment on mine (the one with problems) is set to C (POSIX) while
- the other machine is set to English (Unites States-IBM 805?). Could this
- contribute to the problems?
-
- Thanks for any tips...I'm running out of tricks to try!
