  14. I don't know if this will help any but I had this happen once or twice.  I 
  15. couldn't recover everything,  but I did get most.  What I did was used dd to
  16. dump the contents of the tape to a file.  (you need lots-o-room for this 
  17. manouver)  then I untarred the dd file.  You have to tweak the dd switches as
  18. I remember to be able to do this.  This may or may not work but it is one way
  19. I recovered as much as I could.  I hope this helps.  :)
