  14. I have written a free DVI previewer and printer for MS-Windows 3.x; I
  15. have seen quite a few requests for such a program in this newsgroup, so
  16. I thought it might be a good idea to announce it here. Here is a brief
  17. description of the driver:

  19. DVIWIN is a screen and printer driver for TeX DVI files under Windows
  20. 3.x. Its main features are:
  21.  
  22.   * Fast previewing (uses 386-specific code if it finds a 386/486)
  23.   * Supports graphics for TeX documents: no more cutting and pasting
  24.   * Absolutely WYSIWYG: no surprises when printing
  25.   * Uses any standard PK font files with up to 256 chars per font
  26.   * Can use many paper sizes including the European standard sizes
  27.   * Works with most screen and printers supported by Windows
  28.  
  29. The memory requirements depend on the screen or printer resolution.
  30. To print on a 300 dpi laser printer, you will need about 4M. To view
  31. and print DVI files, you will also need a collection of PK fonts
  32. (available at many ftp sites).

  34. The program is completely free for any individual or non-commercial
