  19. First point is that it's not really "my" file. I translated it from
  20. George Greenwade's VMS file. I hope others might look at my effort
  21. (including some simple C code) and do the same thing for other popular
  22. systems (X-windows anyone?) that they know about.

  24. Sorry if it's confusing. I usually access the help file from the
  25. microEMACS for Windows (mewin) shell that I also posted. From that
  26. shell there is a HELP menu item...
  27.  
  28. However, if you are not interesed in using mewin, you can view the
  29. file using the winhelp.exe program that comes with windows and is
  30. located in your windows directory. I've put together a short
  31. description below. [This description doesnt really belong on this
  32. group, since it is about Windows, not TeX! Sorry!]

  34. You can either:
  35. 1. Create a program-manager "entry" for winhelp by the usual methods
  36. (use the File/New... menu item in program manager). The you can run
  37. winhelp and open the latex.hlp file. Of course this is tedious.
  38. 2. Use the File/Properties dialog to add the path-name of latex.hlp to
  39. the "Command Line" entry. i.e. 
  40. Command Line: winhelp c:\mydir\latex.hlp
  41. 3. Associate .hlp files with winhelp, using File Manager, then you can
  42. run a help file by clicking on it.
