  19. ?? Perhapy you mean tex font metric files (files ending with .tfm). Printer
  20. drivers will not use the format files (files created by initex and ending
  21. with .fmt).

  23. I've used sb34tex.  What dvi drivers have you tried?  I am certain that
  24. Gustaf Neumann's dvi2xx works, and so do the drivers from the emTeX package.
  25. Get dvi2xx at simtel20; get the emTeX stuff at ftp-os2.nmsu.edu in 
  26. pub/os2/all/unix/tex/. (I have assumed that you wish to go to an HP Laserjet.
  27. Get the emTeX drivers if it is dot-matrix; get Rokicki's dvips if it is
  28. Postscript.)

  30. Finally, are you sure that the drivers you tested even look at tfm files?
  31. It is true that some drivers permit the use of characters from one font
  32. while it gets sizes from some other tfm file (used when the correct font is
  33. not available).
