- We are currently trying to adopt Frame as a documentation standard. We have
- engineer types using Frame on workstations, secretaries using Frame on
- MACs. Graphics are generated on workstations using packages such as Template
- or Matlab where either .ps or .eps files are generated. Our current strategy
- is to convert .ps to .epsi using Doub Crabill's (Purdue) pstoepsi program.
- This works fine on an HP730 (pstoepsi and Frame running on HP). However
- when importing the SAME .epsi file into Frame on a Mac, the printed output
- has some clipping around the border. We also sometimes have trouble
- running pstoepsi on a DECstation 3100 where other PostScript graphics are
- generated (it bombs or generates scary error messages).
-
- Surely someone else must have people generate technical plots in PostScript
- on UNIX workstations with a desire to produce documents both on the work-
- stations (for initial creation by engineers) and MACs (for final touch-up
- by secretaries).
-
- I would be very grateful for any suggestions, including other solutions than
- using pstoepsi. THANKS in advance.
