- Our research group has bought a malfunctioning Zenith
- laptop, the old ZWL-183-93 model. It had some obvious faults
- in the charging circuit, and no battery (but we got
- it at a REAL good price...).
-
- Before we add $105 for a new battery, we'd like to
- verify that basic function is OK, and that means... we need
- to know what the voltages should be on the three-wire plug
- in the battery compartment. Does anyone know the pinout of
- this battery?
-
- We've traced enough wires to give us a rough
- idea, including polarity, BUT there's that nagging extra
- wire... what does it do?
-
- The connector is three pins,
- #1 (square) - orange wire
- #2 (round) - red wire
- #3 (round) - brown wire, (-) battery terminal
-
- and it accepts a ZA-180-45 battery.
-
- Thanks; E-mail replies preferred, as this is probably of
- no interest to most folk.
