-
- Well, 486 options...
-
- I've heard from a very nice gentleman at ZDS (Jeff Easton) who
- informed me that you could slap a motherboard from their current Z-400
- series into the LP chassis wiht out to much trouble. Here are your
- choices:
-
- Z-425/SX 25 Mhz 486sx, 4 Mb
- Z-433/SX 33 Mhz 486sx, 4 Mb
- Z-433/DX 33 Mhz 486dx, 4 Mb
-
- "All boards come with 4 Mb DRAM soldered down and three 32 bit SIMM
- sockets for up to 40 Mb on board. They have IDE and floppy on board
- (not on the backplane board like the LP) and has a WD/Paradise 90C30
- SVGA on board as well.
-
- "To fit these boards into your Z-286LP you will need to do some
- minor surgery to the back panel of your exisiting chassis with
- a metal nibbler tool. The power supply will plug right in and
- your backplane will probably work if you depopulate everything
- on it thats in sockets.
-
- The fan in your power supply should move enough air to cool all
- the SX based boards. If you go DX or certainly DX/2, you will
- need another fan blowing right on the CPU heat sink."
-
- You can call ZDS for pricing on these boards...
