  15. We have found that when we open up a shelltool in OpenLook,
  16. the cursor is often diplayed in the lefthand column of the window
  17. rather than in its expected position at the prompt.  In fact,
  18. it actually displays over the first character of the prompt.

  20. The most potentially disconcerting manifistation of this problem
  21. is when we open a shell and run our menu interface in it (for our
  22. users).  Then the cursor often displays in the lefthand column
  23. of the choice line,. as opposed to at the choice prompt itself.

  25. I've said that this often happens.  Whether it does or not seems
  26. to be related to how quickly the shelltool comes up (and particular
  27. to the menu, how quickly the menu call is processed).  The 'toolwait'
  28. command affects the speed with which to shelltool comes up, not
  29. the call to the menu. We've experimented with different fonts, but that
  30. doesn't seem to be the determining factor.

  32. Has anyone experienced this problem.  Has anyone figured out a work
  33. around?  Is there something really obvious I'm missing.  Sigh.

  35. I'm using a SPARCstation IPC, OpenWindows Version 3.  My term type is
  36. sun-cmd. Our operating system is SunOS 4.1.3
