- We have found that when we open up a shelltool in OpenLook,
- the cursor is often diplayed in the lefthand column of the window
- rather than in its expected position at the prompt. In fact,
- it actually displays over the first character of the prompt.
-
- The most potentially disconcerting manifistation of this problem
- is when we open a shell and run our menu interface in it (for our
- users). Then the cursor often displays in the lefthand column
- of the choice line,. as opposed to at the choice prompt itself.
-
- I've said that this often happens. Whether it does or not seems
- to be related to how quickly the shelltool comes up (and particular
- to the menu, how quickly the menu call is processed). The 'toolwait'
- command affects the speed with which to shelltool comes up, not
- the call to the menu. We've experimented with different fonts, but that
- doesn't seem to be the determining factor.
-
- Has anyone experienced this problem. Has anyone figured out a work
- around? Is there something really obvious I'm missing. Sigh.
-
- I'm using a SPARCstation IPC, OpenWindows Version 3. My term type is
- sun-cmd. Our operating system is SunOS 4.1.3
