- I received many replies to my query as to how one redirects f77's choice
- of temporary directory. Thank you all for taking the time to inform me.
- Here's a summary of answers:

- use the option "f77 -temp=<directory> ..." which is the simplest.
- Although this is not in the man page, it appears when you enter
- f77 -help.

- The TMPDIR environment variable does not work.

- Use virtual memory (tmpfs) for the tmp directory. I did not try this,
- but several respondents said it does.
