- Um, it's true for *some* operating systems. The standard configuration files
- for HP-UX 8.0 (400 series) and 8.07 (700 series) will limit the number of
- processes per user to 50. We have found this to be too small for many of our
- users, especially with heavy use of many windows on the screen.

- In my opinion, having a limit of 50 processes per use is *not* a sensible
- default when systems arrive from HP preconfigured with X11R4, VUE etc. What
- we have done on all our HPs is basically the same as is done by default on
- our Suns: Set MAXUPRC to the total number of processes in the system minus a
- reasonable safety margin for the system itself. We've never had any problem
- with this.
