Sony's P6-120 tapes are known to reject the tape the first time out. Reason, Sony rewinds it tape all the way to the leader. The 8200 doesn't like it. You can maunally advance the tape. There is a release mechanism at the back of the cartridge. Using a pencil eraser advance the tape about 5 to 6 turns. This should put the Exabyte in a good mood. I believe Exabyte has fixed the bug with new firmware but don't quote me. Talk to you vendor to see if they can perform a firmware upgrade. In regards of the Exaby
te rejecting the tape everytime, you may want to clean the heads with an Exabyte cleaning tape, at least two passes. If that doesn't work, you will want to return it to your vendor.
