- We are using PCNFS 4.0a on our PCs at work to get connected to our
- SUNs. PCNFS from SUN works fine, IMHO even better than PCTCP from FTP,
- but it has two one essential drawbacks:
-
- - 1 -
-
- It lacks 'rlogin', it is shipped with 'telnet' only! Our users
- dislike to re-enter their passwords every time they establish a UNIX
- Session. With 'rlogin' they could use the '.rhost' UNIX Feature.
-
- ===> Is there a 'rlogin' (directly from SUN or a third-party vendor)
- available for SUNs PCNFS or another sulution to the problem?
-
- - 2 -
-
- It lacks the NETBIOS interface we need to get our 3270 Terminal
- Emulation Software (DynaComm) running in conjunction with the Gateway
- Software to connect to one of our IBM hosts.
-
- I have implemented the NETBIOS interface with a second protocol stack.
- We run NDIS as the common layer for NFS and NETBIOS and IPX as a
- glue-Protocol between NETBIOS and NDIS. But NETBIOS and IPX are part of
- a Novell package, SUNs PCNFS didn't provide us with such things.
-
- ===> Is there a NETBIOS interface for PCNFS available (other than that
- already mentioned)?
-
-
- Thnaks for answers in advance!
