- First, let me describe the problem.

- We have an IPC which is supposed to boot off its internal disk (sd0).

- After a system crash, we had to restore sd0a.

- Now it won't boot if a CD-ROM is not connected to the SCSI port. It just
- sits there doing nothing. It doesn't even get to the "testing" message.
- It only displays the Sun logo, ROM rev. info., hostid, ethernet address, etc.

- However, if we connect the CD-ROM drive (without a CD platter inside), and power
- it on, it boots like a charm.

- The only thing I can think of is a hardware/PROM/NVRAM problem.
