- We have a lot of exabyte 8200 8mm tape drives at our various sites.
- We are considering the purchase of an 8500 drive for its increased
- capacity. I can't find any info in the literature regarding the 8500's
- ability to read/write tapes in the old (8200) format.
-
- I would like to be able to read our old tapes with this drive, and
- in a pinch, write out a tape from the 8500 which could be read by
- an 8200 at another site.
-
- I would appreciate hearing from anybody who knows if what I would like
- is possible.
-
- Thanks for your attention,
-
