-
- I had exactly the same problem, and found that a solution was to have
- uugetty running on the port, through an entry in /etc/inittab.
-
- Private Email from them 'elpful souls at SGI was inconclusive, and did
- not solve the problem. Actually, it was not really a problem for me as I
- usually have uugetty running, but when testing the modem with Sams fax
- software I had to switch uugetty off, and that is when I noticed it.
-
- If it helps, faxd in the flexfax package also 'enables' uucico as well.
-
- Maybe my modem swings on some lines it shouldn't.
-
- And yes, permissions are OK all round, and nothing else is using
- /dev/tty[dmf]2. I have a full house modem cable. Honest. Switch on
- uugetty, it works, switch it off, it doesn't.
-
- I would be very interested if this solves your problem.
-
- Cheers, Andy.
