- I recently upgraded our two 4D70TG's to 4.0.1:
-
- machine: slow - cpu: MIPS R2000A/R3000 16Meg
- machine: dogslow - cpu: MIPS R2000A/R3000 8Meg
-
- Since updating, these machines run very slowly whenever any window operations
- are performed. The 16Meg machine runs at an almost tolerable pace, but the
- other machine just crawls.
-
- There doesn't seem to be any abnormal processes running, but gr_top on dogslow
- shows alot of CPU activity with Xsgi, though Xsgi isn't growing too quickly.
- Is the problem that dogslow doesn't have enough memory for X? If so, how can
- I prove this to justify the purchase of more memory (if it's available)?
-
- PS - installing 4.0.5 gives the same result
