- Hi, I frequently need to transfer files/data between sparcs
- and an R3K. Both have 8mm Exabyte tape drives. I use tar
- with the default block sizes on both sides. Using the noswap
- device on the R3K seems to make the transfer work.
-
- I never have problems going from R3K to Sparcs. Going Sparc->R3K
- however, sometimes I get a "Please mount next tape and hit <Return>"
- message on the R3K, followed by a tape error. When this happens
- usually I also lose data near the end which seems to vary in size.
-
- Any one else run into this?
