  13. I want to post a few pictures to the pictures newsgroup. The images are
  14. in SGI Imagelib format. I converted them to gif format and viewed in SUN
  15. workstation (If I post the SGI Imagelib files, pictures can be seen only
  16. in IRIS workstations). Unfortunately quality of the image is really poor.

  18. (One reason I can think of, is, GIF is 8-bit color based whereas SGI Imagelib
  19. is minimum 24bit color, possibly JPEG may be helpful. Is there anyway I can
  20. convert SGI Imagelib to JPEG format straight?)

  22. Or is there any simple way to improve the quality of GIF file?
