- I want to post a few pictures to the pictures newsgroup. The images are
- in SGI Imagelib format. I converted them to gif format and viewed in SUN
- workstation (If I post the SGI Imagelib files, pictures can be seen only
- in IRIS workstations). Unfortunately quality of the image is really poor.

- (One reason I can think of, is, GIF is 8-bit color based whereas SGI Imagelib
- is minimum 24bit color, possibly JPEG may be helpful. Is there anyway I can
- convert SGI Imagelib to JPEG format straight?)
