- Hello again,
-
- This is the third, and hopefully final, phase of the Art department
- re-equiping.
-
- This is a much harder one to define. We already have 3 scanners here
- but not one of them can live up to its rated maximum resolution or else
- they have other problems with color, grey scale, etc. The
- sales-drones tell you to buy the upgraded model. When you try to get
- the scanner fixed the company goes to receivers (with your scanner there
- as a company asset!) and of course, there is no hope of a refund. We
- managed to get the unit back, but no change in its functionality.
-
- What I would like is a unit that functions at high resolution, full
- color, can take up to A4 size images, and works. The image that is
- produced should be in a popular format or all the conversion software
- to put it into a common format must be provided. By common format I
- mean PICT, giff, jpeg, tiff or PostScript.
-
- Does anyone know of such a beast?
-
- Part of our original equipment problems were due to the Art dept.
- buying the scanners and not testing them to the peak of their ability
- until 8 months later when no company wants to hear of you. So this time
- it would be nice if the device would have an Australian distributor who
- is willing to put a unit in for a weeks solid testing prior to purchase.
-
- If I get enough responses then a summary will appear.
