- I've come across a failure of the su command to actually set the uid,
- but doesn't report the failure. The situation is this:
-
- A directory on an NFS mounted file system (exported rw, no restrictions)
- is owned by me, owned by a group that my Indigo doesn't know about, is
- mode 2750.
-
- drwxr-s--- 2 cruff 1558 512 Jan 28 09:22 .
-
- I am not a member of group 1558 as far as my Indigo knows, either. When
- inside this directory, a plain 'su' command reads the root password but fails
- to set uid=0 and doesn't say anything. Is does return status 1, however.
