  11. The other day, I needed to install the cdsio software from the 4.0.5
  12. distribution. Since I've installed this option many times before, I know
  13. that it contains a single file, /usr/sysgen/boot/cdsio.o.
  14.  
  15. Inst claims that the file must be installed from the mini-root, and
  16. absolutely refuses to install it while running multi-user. Now, I know that
  17. there's only one file in there, and I know how to type '/etc/autoconfig -f'
  18. and 'telinit q' to build a new kernel and install it.

  20. Instead, I had to take the machine down, load the mini-root (across the net,
  21. ugh), install, and reboot. This took much longer than it should have.

  23. For my future reference, Is there an "Expert Administrator" option for inst?
  24. (I know this is all fixed in The Next Release, so I'm not going to bother
  25. asking for a fix...)
