- This is definitely a case of "you can't please all of the
- people all of the time." It's much like choosing your
- favorite text editor - some people like optical mice,
- others mechanical. Even here at SGI, there are occasional
- public debates about which is better.

- As for myself, I have both an Indigo (mechanical mouse)
- and a PI (optical mouse) on my desk. I don't have much
- of a preference for one over the other. Actually, I
- understand that one of the reasons for switching to the
- mechanical mouse is that the optical mice had a high
- failure rate. I'm not sure "cutting corners on quality"
- was a prime motivation...
