- Three people in our group here with PI 4D/35s give a thumbs up for the
- newer mechanical mice. They seem to move much smoother and give you
- a greater sense of control. Some people I know with older systems who
- have tried both wish they could have a mechanical mouse instead. The only
- people I know who didn't like the mechanical mouse are those who didn't
- use it with a pad (their systems weren't shipped with one). After they
- got a good pad, it worked fine for them. Our PIs didn't come with pads
- either, but after we called SGI about it they sent us some nice thick
- rubber backed pads which work great. And using alcohol on the metal
- rollers to clean off the gunk really helps to keep them in perfect working
- order as a previous poster suggested.
