- Hello SGI users:
- I posted the joking claim that the details of SGI's image format
- is a closely guarded secret. No sooner had I flamed to this effect,
- when several SGI people and a couple of customers, acting independently
- and not in concert, hastened to tell me about
- /usr/include/gl/image.h
- which essentially describes the image file format. This,
- together with imgtools in 4Dgifts allows one to write a
- program that examines an image file, with a view to
- understanding what is being displayed or improving the
- aesthetic quality or whatever we want to do.
- I am sorry to have hurt the SGI people's feelings and regret any
- transient effect this may have had on SGI's image.
