- Hi,
- We have a SGI Indigo with 48MB. Every once in a while, the machine seems
- to pause/halt briefly. For example, while you're typing away in a vi
- session, it would stop responding for anywhere from 1 sec upto several minutes
- before continuing. There are no CPU intensive processes running, nor is there
- any out-of-control processes. This machine is used by single person, and
- he usally has a few windows open to do latex, read mail, preview
- postscript, etc. Is there any known problem with the OS or hardware that
- will exhibit this kind of behavior? If not, what tools/methods can I
- employ to track down the cause? I'm mostly SunOS person and have little
- experience with tools available for SGI machines.
-
- uname -a gives:
- IRIX pegasus 4.0.5 06151813 IP12
-
- Any help would be appreciated.
