  12. Noting the postings about inst, I would like to add a comment, which could
  13. be considered a request for a change.  Recently I installed a package
  14. which put stuff under /usr/local, and in the process changed some
  15. permissions and overwrote some files that I had put there.
  16.  
  17. It would be nice if one could get inst to ask before making thse kinds
  18. of changes.  They are OK if the changes affect /bin or other system
  19. directories that system administrators are not likely to mess around
  20. with (although I tend to install shells in /bin), but I don't want my
  21. /usr/local/bin directory screwed up without warning!
