- Hello all,
-
- I'm looking to spend between $5000 to $7000 for an animation package and I'd
- appreciate it if anyone could recommend a few to me. My group does research in
- computer vision and we'd like to be able to animate 3D geometry (of buildings,
- etc.). So far, I've evaluated Wavefront's Personal Visualizer and I'm generally
- comfortable with it although I wish it had better and easier to use motion
- tools. Our platform is a SGI 4D/340GTX and we use AutoCAD for modelling. The
- package I'm looking for should make it easy for me to specify motion paths
- (splines, etc.), link together sequences to make complex motions, and
- preferrably does texture-mapping. I've heard of the following but do not have
- their address or e-mail: Prisms, SoftImage, Alias, Thompson Digital Imaging,
- and AVS. I'd appreciated if anyone out there who are using the above could give
- me a brief description of their capabilities and some means to contact their
- sales people. Thanks!
