  16. The ICON'93 Conference and Exposition will be held at the Hyatt Regency
  17. Alicante in Anaheim, California, March 9-11, 1993.
  18.  
  19. To: All with an interest in Prime INFORMATION
  20.     - as it was, as it is, as it will be.
  21.     All with an interest in PI style data bases
  22.     - UniVerse, Unidata, PI/Open, Pick-flavors.
  23.     All with an interest in porting from Prime INFORMATION
  24.     - "Main-Stream" databases, other options.

  26. The 10th Annual Information Conference for 1993 will be addressing all of
  27. these issues and more. With the demise of Prime Computer and the purchase
  28. of their INFORMATION product by VMark, all of us are now faced with
  29. decisions that will affect our businesses to some degree. Enough time has
  30. now passed sine Prime's  announcements and the acquisition of PI/Open by
  31. VMark for all of us - End Users, VAR's, Vendors, Consultants,
  32. Manufacturers, Service Organizations and YOU - to reassess where we are
  33. today, where we may want to head, and how to get there from  here.

  35. The questions remaining to be answered deal with your company and your
  36. professional future. Should I move to UNIX now or can I wait? Do I stay
  37. with a PI style database or do I go mainstream? What are the differences,
  38. good points and bad of  SUN, IBM, Sequent, Data General, HP, Pyramid and
  39. the rest?

  41. These questions are the purpose of attending ICON'93. We plan to have the
  42.  answers for you. We are now putting together all the pieces to provide
  43. you the  opportunity to have the information you need to chart your
  44. course for the next steps that face us all.

  47. now, we will have the right people to address your concerns on extending
  48. the life of your investments in hardware and software. ICON'93 will show
  49. you several ways to stay or even grow with your present  equipment.
