- Have you checked Intel Flash's (for example) ? You can read individual
- bytes with no extra penalty. SunDisk however, has its own proprietry
- Flash architecure which, if I recall correctly, access the Flash
- in blocks of 512 bytes (nominal size, the actual size is larger
- to hold some house keeping information).

- That's true. Rumors say that SunDisk has a patent on the 'technology'
- of keeping track of the number of times each sector has been written,
- and using this information to balance the wear.
