  13. Hi there!  After reading the previous posting from a disgrunted prospect
  14. CNE, I can see why Novell wants you to buy their self-study books.  I had
  15. a similar encounter where I was 5 points off from passing the 3.11 System
  16. Manager exam.  DRAX Technologies says that their testing format proves
  17. their worth ... I say they do not.  Plus, their methodology in the section
  18. analysis is real bogus:  the precentage as stated is suppose to show you
  19. the number of probable questions you will get correct if all possible questions
  20. are asked in that particular section.  Well, I passed the Networking
  21. Technologies but my section analysis showed a probable 60-65% in three
  22. sections.  But, the System Exam results had a much better section analysis
  23. but failed it.

  25. If you want to be a CNE, I recommend you examine the economic and
  26. intellectual payoffs in achieving a CNE status.  To some people, they're
  27. willing to pay $3000-4000 over a 12-month period to get a CNE.  Of course,
  28. they were to get a payraise that would "make up" for it (in other words,
  29. they checked out the paybacks possibility beforehand).

  32. I agree that if your employer wants you to become a CNE, then they
  33. should show commitment towards your education (since they will probably get
  34. a payoff maybe in terms of marketing, etc.).   However, if you want to or
  35. desire to become a CNE (for any reason), then you have to decide how
  36. you are going to fund your own education (try getting the employer to
  37. pay for it first, of course).
