- Hi,
- We have six Novell 3.11 servers at Facilities at Rutgers University.
- We need remote users to dial-in into our system for entering data into
- database systems. Based on a LAN times review, I bought Shiva Corp.
- Lanrover /E for a 10 Base-T ethernet and we got burned. The thing
- doesn't work for a file server-PC environment. It is very very slow
- (using 9600 V.42 modems). It takes literally 5 minutes to go from one
- screen to the other. We need remote dial-in to access two DBMS :
- 1) An Xbase product writteen in DBXL Quicksilver.
- 2) An Advanced Revelation product.
- Does anyone have experience with products which work well in file
- server environments ? We need around 4 to 8 remote users to dial in
- simultaneously on each server.
-
- Thank you.
- Andy
